A 15 month old boy suffered severe burns that seared 20% of his body. Demetrius Collins received a felony charge of child abuse after somehow burning the boy’s buttocks and both legs. He had to undergo skin grafts before being released from the hospital. Thank goodness the boy is all right. The report did not say how the boy was burned or even the relationship of the boy to this man. His mother was the one who took him to the hospital and she is not under investigation. Mr. Collins had no previous criminal record prior to this incident. I’m not going to bash this guy too much because it could have been an accident but such a shame. Be more careful.

Carlton Anderson was indicted with four counts of child abuse after he left several of his kids home alone and two twins were spotted wandering around on the freeway. The twins were picked up safely by the police which then led them to their house where police found more siblings home alone. The house was a mess, children were wearing dirty diapers, and there were broken beer bottles everywhere. The dad was no where to be seen. Around 8am he finally shows up and explains to officers that he went to pick up their mother from a bar but she refused to leave so he went drinking with a friend. That’s some responsible parenting there. wow.

This story really stuck in my crawl. A 15 year old mother tried to kill her infant while allegedly throwing the baby out of a moving taxi cab. A nearby store owner witnessed the whole thing. The baby was wrapped with a towel and covered in blood. Luckily the baby survived. What a horrible mother. Who would let a 15 year old take care of a baby when she herself is still a kid. I’m sure there were signs that she wasn’t fit to be a mother. Someone who tries to kill their child should be showing some signs of distress or unhappiness. Let’s just say, she ruined the rest of her life but luckily this story had a happy ending and the baby survived. The 15 year old could be charged with infanticide. (Never heard of that charge until now)

Michael Andrew Dale received two years probation for an aggressive move that consequently broke a child’s arm. The child’s arm broke in two places along with the tibia. This was all over “fixing a blanket”. I guess the soldier had a short temper. If you ask me, I think he should of received more that just probation. I don’t care who you are, you should know better than to yank a one month old’s arm. This guy needs to sign up for anger management and he definitely should stay away from kids until he “cools” off.

In an article by Times Online in Britain, parenting has become the main focus on creating a disastrous life plan for children growing up.
“So what went wrong - why did you drop out of school?” I asked. “My parents were just liberal about schools,” he said. “They never made me go.”
This has been a trend unfortunately on the rise. Parents just aren’t there to provide support and a proper environment. That in effect has changed the morals of families and they no longer value working hard or self praise. Its a non stop circular cycle. Children often learn best from their parents. When they grow up they essentially do not know how to be just that, parents.

An investigation in Australia found that parents have been supplying alcohol to their teens. Its not just a few, but startling number of parents provide boos for their children. Here are the statistics:
Male teens ages 12-16: About 30%
Female teens ages 12-16: About 40%
Those are pretty large numbers. Almost half of the females studied have parents who supply alcohol.
